Parent Support

As a parent myself, I understand that parenting can be the most rewarding job in the world but it can also be tough, very tough. There are countless parenting books out there offering many techniques. Yet you’ll find that each child is unique and doesn’t fit into these "one size fits all" guides. Sometimes they can undermine our own parenting instincts.

Children do come with lots of feelings and a deep need for emotional connection. Sometimes children can have feelings and behaviours that are hard to manage. Behaviour is a way of communicating a need. It can be a need for connection. Sometimes as a parent we can struggle with our own feelings and are wondering what to do next? Parenting is hard. Certainly you are not alone in that feeling. With support the direction of your relationships can improve.

How I Support Parents/Carers:

My approach for supporting parents/carers is valuing and nurturing the relationship between parent/carer and child. It is a non-judgmental approach as I believe that all parents/carers want what is the very best for their children. I adapt to what the needs are of each individual set of caregivers.

I support parents/carers in a few different ways. Parent consultation, Filial Therapy or Parenting Programme. The Parenting programme can be in a group setting or as individual set of parents. Some parents may want to have a consultation to talk about their concerns for their child and receive guidance. Or they may be noticing a change in their relationship with their child and are looking to reignite the connection between them. They might feel that interactions are becoming negative. Or concerned about their child’s behaviour whilst feeling out of control themselves. Or they may be looking for a way to connect through play but aren’t sure what way to do it? I offer relationship tools that will help nurture deeper connections to meet your child’s emotional needs.
