I really enjoyed this forest mindfulness session with Cathy. It was a lovely way to start a meeting and a great teambuilding activity. Cathy clearly embodies the practice and she exudes a grounded, relaxed, warm and fun energy which put everyone at ease. I enjoyed the morning hugely and would recommend this to anyone who wants to connect with nature, themselves, the people around them and have fun!

I feel so blessed to have been a part of an adult woodland group which was facilitated by Cathy one morning in October. Cathy has a wonderful way of being with people and shares her knowledge and love of nature in the most nurturing way. I felt connected and safe in a space where I could reflect, centre myself and refill my own cup. Cathy provides insight and awareness into the world of nature and how we as human beings are intertwined without fully realising it. A group of our young people took part in mindfulness with nature workshop with Cathy during our summer programme. It gives the young people a chance to reconnect with nature. They got to learn how to be amongst nature in a positive way, this was done through a variety of games, walks and clay making our young people enjoyed the clay aspect the most they loved using pieces of nature they found to create different sculptures. Thank you so much Cathy for the wonderful woodland group. It was a fantastic journey form Spring to Summer in the woods. It was so lovely to be out in nature in all weather especially the downpour on our last Sunday was definitely the most memorable with all the laughter. Cathal continues to talk about it and is looking forward to our next group.

Myself and my 5 year old went with Cathy for a session in the woods. It was really lovely even with the day being wet as it does be in Ireland. Cathy had a great set up that kept us dry and once we were all wrapped up it was great. My daughter had a great time exploring and doing all the wonderful crafts Cathy had and then enjoyed story time. Cathy was brilliant facilitating and really made a very calm, fun and creative space for me and my daughter to enjoy. Thanks for a wonderful experience and can’t wait for the next! Myself and my daughter attended Cathy’s Nature based parent and child mindfulness programme earlier this year. My daughter is quite shy around new people or people she hasn’t met in a while. When Cathy met us in the carpark to let us know what was going to happen on the course, she asked what animal we were feeling like on the day. My daughter would not say herself but did whisper in my ear and asked me to say it for her. I liked the inclusive aspect of this exercise. Everyone was given the choice to speak, and it was also communicated that if you didn’t want to, then that was ok too.
I personally learned lots about how to ask about my daughters’ feelings and, to help her express them in a non-judgemental way. I learned how being in the moment with my daughter actually helped me regulate my own emotions if she is not feeling like communicating with me. I learned that being in nature had a calming effect on both me and my daughter and helped us communicate more effectively. There were some wonderful stories in the woods, and we made some wonderful mementos from things we found and workshopped also.
Overall, I found the course very beneficial for both me and my daughter. Sometimes, I can struggle to get my daughter to agree to go to activities I have planned for us. This was most definitely not the case here. Immediately my daughter began to enjoy the days in the woods together. Cathy has an amazing talent of including everyone, creating an accepting environment and she has left me and my daughter wanting more! Cathy is gentle and kind and personifies what she teaches. I would recommend this course to anyone who is looking to raise their awareness of their children’s feelings.
